DAILY OFFERINGS

Marimba Workshops - 4 hours of beginning, 4 hours of intermediate and 4 hours of advanced marimba will be offered daily in two separate 2 hour sessions in the morning and evening.

Mbira Dzavadzimu & Nyunga Nyunga - 2 hours will be offered daily in two separate sessions. Classes will be divided into beginning, intermediate and advanced.  Private instruction will also be offered depending on the availability of the various teachers.

Song - Singing classes will be offered for all levels and will include a cappella singing as well as songs to accompany marimba, mbira and drums.

Dance - NEW!! Dance classes will be offered ALL DAY each day for all levels. Dances are taught to accompany mbira, marimba and various drum rhythms.

Drumming - Rhythms will be presented from the Zezuru, Karanga and Makorekore people of Zimbabwe. Also techniques and rhythms to accompany marimba and mbira will be taught.

Daily Yoga Class - NEW!! Class will take place every morning. Open to all levels, a great way to start your day! Please bring a yoga mat if you have one.

Shona Guitar - Both folk and electric styles of guitar will be explored in classes geared towards people already possessing fundamental guitar technique.

SPECIAL OFFERINGS

Musangano Circle - This community time will take place around the evening fire and will give us an opportunity to share our music, dance, storytelling and teaching outside of the classroom environment. This is a time for informal performances from both camp participants and teachers alike.

Student/Teacher Performance - Near the end of the camp, we will invite the greater community at large to join us for a performance by camp participants and teachers. Old favorites as well as new material learned at camp will be presented to the audience.  Admission is $10 for non-participants including family and friends; seating is limited!!

Extra Stuff - Synergia Ranch is surrounded by miles of hiking territory through New Mexico's beautiful high desert mountainous terrain. Day excursions can be taken to the cultural mecca of Santa Fe, or the quaint historic town of Madrid, both just 15-20 minutes drive from Synergia.
